5 Ways Dua Lipa Stays Fit and Fabulous with Stunning New Photos

Dua Lipa is showing off her toned tummy – in her string bikini. In a new social media post the singer flaunts her amazingly fit figure in a blue and red bathing suit from her Radical Optimism collection while lounging poolside. She shared the image via her Instagram Stories. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1

No Therapy But Talking with Her Friend

"I'm not very good at therapy, to be honest," Dua recently told Rolling Stone. "As much as I'm disciplined in so many areas of my life — or I try to be — I have a little bit of a harder time locking myself down to talk about how I feel. I think that in part is down to the fact that I think I have a really easy communication with my friends. I talk to my friends about everything that's happening."

Reading

Dua is a reader. "A book that I was obsessed with, absolutely possessed: Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe," Lipa told Rolling Stone. "I like to escape reality a lot of the time," she said about her book choices. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

3

Sleep

"Make sure to take time for yourself to stay grounded in the midst of all this craziness," Dua told Vogue, revealing that sleep helps her do this. According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z's is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.

Meditation

Instead, for her own self-care, she opts for meditation, she told them. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Yoga

She told Rolling Stone that yoga is another one of her self-care methods. She "always, always" travels with her yoga mat, she revealed in a 73 Questions interview with Vogue. The most difficult pose she has mastered?. Crow pose into a headstand, she responded, which involves balancing your knees on your elbows as you crouch forward on your hands, eventually transforming into a headstand. Why should you do yoga, per Harvard Health? "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
