“As a rule…”: Calvin Harris Will Never Work With Dua Lipa Again But it’s Not Why You Think

Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa rocked the world in 2018 with their iconic pop song One Kiss. With a catchy tune at hand and Lipa lending her iconic voice, the song became an instant hit with accolades such as Song of the Year and many more.

The two are indeed great friends but their chemistry was so good that rumors of them dating were heavily circulated around the internet. As a rule, however, Calvin Harris has vowed to not work with Dua Lipa again because of his one rule.

Calvin Harris Has A Rule Against Working With Dua Lipa

Well, not just Dua Lipa but Calvin Harris has a rule that he has only ever broken once. Working with multiple artists from different genres of music, the Scottish DJ artist has proven himself to be a great collaborator.

Having worked with Dua Lipa in 2018 for the song One Kiss, the DJ artist will probably not work with her ever again because he has a rule of not repeating artists! In an interview with BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show (via Express), the artist revealed that he does not work with the same artist for a second time!

“I feel like sometimes, as a rule, it’s just the one. I actually wouldn’t have done a second. Probably a third would be pushing it.”

Although he has worked with some artists two to three times, the artist is still unsure about working with Dua Lipa again.

It is no secret that Rita Ora (who is the wife of director Taika Waiti) dated back in 2014. Working on songs together, Calvin Harris refused to allow Rita Ora to sing their song I Will Never Let You Down at the Teen Choice Awards. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on On Air (via Nickiswift) Ora revealed that it was Harris’ choice whether to allow or deny to sing the song.

“He has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn’t get it. And obviously, he owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards.”

In response, Harris tweeted that he had a “damn good reason” not to allow Ora to sing but later deleted that tweet. The Scottish DJ is currently married to Vick Hope with their recent marriage in September 2023.
