On Friday, Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison were spotted kicking off the weekend at Disneyland. While they were likely trying to fly under the radar in jeans, sneakers, and baseball caps, it was their diamond rings — worn on their left ring fingers — that fans noticed, setting off questions about whether the two are engaged.
This wasn’t the first time Moretz has been seen wearing a diamond ring on that finger. In March, she wore what appears to be the same ring to a W magazine party, as well as earlier this month in a Louis Vuitton campaign video, Us Weekly reports. Moretz and Harrison, a model, were first rumored to be dating in 2018 when they were seen kissing at Nobu in Malibu. Since then, the duo has kept their relationship private, only occasionally posting photos together on social media.
Although Moretz hasn’t said much publicly about her relationship or sexuality, in a 2018 interview with the Gay Times, she said her family faced “pushback” after her brothers came out as gay while living in Georgia and that experience pushed her to become an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. Moretz has said she doesn’t think people should have to come out, telling HuffPost in 2016, “my big issue is not just the fact that people are against LGBT — it’s the fact that we have to come out and say who we’re interested in.” She added: “There should never even be a question. It doesn’t matter. It’s not an issue. Why are we even living in a society where we have to answer those questions? That’s a question that shouldn’t be asked.”
It’s probably safe to assume Moretz won’t be saying much about her relationship status. In 2022, she reiterated a sentiment she’s made clear over the years to the i Paper: “I like to keep my private life private.”
