Machine Gun Kelly opens up about fiancé Megan Fox’s miscarriage in his latest single

Creatives tend to do their healing through art, and Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are no different. In Fox’s book of poetry, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous: Poems, that was released in Nov. 2023, she spoke about a miscarriage she had with MGK, sharing her pregnancy loss in a deep and personal way. And through his art, Kelly shared his experience with Fox’s miscarriage in his latest single.

In “Don’t Let Me Go,” Kelly wrote, “How can I live with the fact / That my hand wasn’t on her stomach when we lost the baby,” referencing the miscarriage Fox had.

As for the poem Fox wrote about the incident, she wrote about an ultrasound of a baby girl at 10 weeks and a day, where she said, “…maybe if you hadn’t… maybe if I had…” She also wrote, “I will pay any price / Tell me please / what is the ransom / for her soul?”

MGK and Megan Fox share one child together, and have a blended family from past relationships that include three children from Fox’s previous relationships, and one daughter from MGK’s previous relationship.

MGK’s daughter Casie Colson Baker is 14, and he shares her with Emma Cannon, and Fox’s children include Noah, Bodhi, and Journey, whom she shares with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green.

This isn’t the first time MGK spoke about their miscarriage. According to Vanity Fair, Kelly performed his song “Twin Flame” at the Billboard Music Awards in May 2022, and said he wrote it “for my wife.” He ended the performance by saying, “and this is for our unborn child.”

In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Fox opened up about her losses—she had an ectopic pregnancy when she was younger, and then had a miscarriage at 10 weeks with Kelly.

“That experience was so much harder than I would’ve anticipated it being, and I’ve really analyzed ‘why was that? Why was that so difficult for me?’” she shared with the publication.

“Because when I was younger, I had an ectopic pregnancy, I’ve had other things that I’m not going to say because God forbid the world will be in an uproar. But I’ve been through other similar issues, but not with someone who I was so in love with,” she says, referring to Kelly.

Hopefully the couple was able to heal, even a little bit, by sharing their pain and struggles that come with having a miscarriage through their art.
