Megan Fox takes double bashing at the Razzies along with rip off of Walt Disney classic

Megan Fox won two awards in the 2024 Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, which honour the "worst" in contemporary cinema just before the Oscars ceremony takes place.

She was crowned the worst actress in the horror-heist film 'Johnny & Clyde' and the worst supporting actress for her role in the fourth instalment of the Expendables franchise – stylised as 'Expend4bles'. The film also saw Sylvester Stallone, who has been nominated 16 times over the years, win Worst Supporting Actor.

Meghan plays an Atlantic City casino owner who ramps up the violence as a pair of serial killers – Johnny and Clyde – return home with a plan to rob her joint. The movie scored an impressive 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 24% audience score.

When it was released, the film received a string of negative reviews with the Empire describing it as "the poorest writing and acting seen in a theatrically-released horror film in living memory" and The Guardian calling it "a terrifying combination of not-scary and not-funny", awarding it one star. Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who directed the film, won the Worst Director award at the Razzies.

But despite the negative reviews of his remake of Winnie the Pooh, he has now announced a sequel to the film and other horror films based on characters loved by kids such as Bambi and Peter Pan. US copyright laws say rights can be held for 96 years and after that, the characters can be legally shared, performed, reused, repurposed or sampled by anyone without permission or cost.

The organisers of the Razzies describe the awards as the "ugly cousin to the Oscars" and every year they reveal what they see as the worst films of the year the day before the Oscars take place. Last year, Tom Hanks was among the winners of the virtual awards ceremony, and Ana de Armas’s Marilyn Monroe drama 'Blonde' picked up the gong for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay.

None of this year's Razzie recipients are also in the running for the Oscars, but in the past some Oscar winners also won Razzies. This included Halle Berry for 'Catwoman' after winning an Oscar for 'Monster's Ball' and Tom Hanks winning two Academy Awards but also a Razzie for his portrayal of Colonel Tom Parker in 'Elvis'.
