Megan Fox’s ex hits back over claim that their sons were ‘forced’ to wear ‘girls clothes’

Brian Austin Green has defended his ex-wife Megan Fox against criticism over her parenting, relating to their sons having been known to wear "girls clothes".

The former couple – who were married from 2010 until their divorce was finalised last year – share three sons, with them parents to sons Noah, 10, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, six.

Megan, 37, has previously spoken about creating an environment for her kids where they can express themselves freely, like Noah being allowed to wear dresses.

She has been questioned by political commentator Robby Starbuck in a post on Twitter this week, with him suggesting that she "forced" two of her kids to wear "girls clothes".

Alongside a photo of the family, Robby tweeted earlier this week: "These are [Megan's] sons. We used to live in the same gated community and our kids played at the park.

"I saw 2 of them have a full on breakdown saying they were forced by their mom to wear girls clothes as their nanny tried to console them. It's pure child abuse. Pray for them."

He said the alleged incident was around five years ago and said that he "knew California wouldn't do anything about it because the state celebrates this stuff and she's famous".

The former congressional candidate – who said he has since relocated to Tennessee – said it's a "very weird situation" and added that "clearly those boys weren't happy".

Brian has addressed Robby's remarks in a statement shared with TMZ recently, in which he defended Megan and said that he hopes society continues to "push to be better".

He said: "It's a totally bogus story. There are only a few people in their world that can actually verify whether or not a story like this is true and I can tell you with absolute certainty it is not.

"This person trying to claim this is true is a perfect example of someone with selfish motives that does not care about negatively affecting a parent child relationship."

He further commented to the outlet: "As a society I hope we continue to push to be better. This Robby Starbuck person is full of s**t, and I have no idea who he is."

Megan has previously spoken about allowing her children to wear what they want, particularly in reference to her eldest, Noah, who she's said sometimes chooses to wear dresses.

She told Media Planet once: "When I became pregnant with Noah, I could feel, through my mother's intuition I suppose, that he was not subscribing to gender stereotypes."

"So I decided to provide an environment for him early on that would allow him to discover how he wanted to express himself," she further commented at the time.

Megan added: "If a boy loves princesses and a girl loves baseball, that's not indicative of their sexuality. It's indicative of their communication and creative expression."

She also said: "It's not our job to shape them into the people we think they should be. […] It's our job to love and nurture the child as they are so they can thrive as adults."

Megan spoke about her approach with Glamour magazine last year, saying: "Noah started wearing dresses when Noah was about two, and I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of like what this is.

"Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; like you can express yourself through your clothing however you want. And that doesn't even have to have anything to do with your sexuality.”

"So from the time they were very young, I've incorporated those things into their daily lives so that nobody feels like they are weird or strange or different."
